Customer Project: $10 DIY test kit

Although it isn't as substantial as many others' projects, these are my first ever lines of thread. I purchased one of your $10 DIY test kits to get some experience before building a tarp and tipi for Elk season this September.
The kit came with samples of a couple fabrics I wanted to try to sew with, so it was perfect for me to practice on! I purchased a spool of Mara 70 and got to making 3 different stuff sacks with the DIY kit material. Each iteration was better than the last.

I specifically wanted to work on flat-felled seams for the tarp and tipi projects. But I also experimented with a few different ways of finishing the drawcord channel and made a square bottom on one of the stuff sacks.

This is a great kit and gets you sewing some useful items for your practice...my 5-year-old son commandeered the Realtree bag as his and has been using it to haul toys to Grandma's and other supplies in his backpack for school.
